10 Things We Know About Heaven

10 Things We Know About Heaven

Heaven is a common religious and mythological place where celestial beings (or heavenly beings) inhibit – fictitious, as many people think of it as. It is often described as the holiest place, a Paradise, or the higher place, in contrast to Hell as the lowest place. Every religion has its own theories regarding Heaven, although almost all the Holy books state the same thing about it.

Some of the common notions about Heaven are:

10. Heaven is a place where we will possess everything and nothing

Matthew 6:19-21, “And you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.”

As it is commonly believed and stated as, there exist no private property in Heaven, everyone shares everything. No one can possess beauty, goodness, truth, property, love or life. To have joy is to be miserable with fear of losing it; to be beautiful is to be in vain. Detachment is the key to Heaven, and no one is going to have anything upon their arrival. Everyone possesses everything and owns nothing.

9.  Heaven is an endless space

Genesis 1:16-18, “God made two great lights – the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness.”

Most of the general mass tend to take as the place with endless bliss. The days are timeless; the nights are absent – one golden daybreak and no sunsets. The fellowship there is ceaseless, like the never-ending lengths of days. The service of Heaven is perpetual, as compared to limited number on Earth, where our service comes to an end. The throne of the God is the one we are going to serve, eternally.

8. Heaven is a place of no sin

John 3:9, “No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.”

Another common thing we know about Heaven is that it is a place where all the mistakes are forgotten, and all the tendencies to do wrong are erased. No sin can take place in Paradise, and His child shall do no wrong in His presence. Sin has contaminated the Earth, but it will not intrude the Heaven.

7. Heaven is a place of equality

Galatians 3:28, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

Heaven is a place where every being is equal – be it an animal, insect or human. No one holds any special thing and every single one of us is same in His eyes. Men and women; slave and master; animals and humans; Greek or Jew – everyone stands on the same level, and prejudice won’t take place. It is a common notion that every single atom in the Upper Level hold no superiority, amid the others.

6. Heaven is the place of Coronation

Revelation 19:11-16,  “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, and LORD OF LORDS.”

It is known that God is to be crowned “King of Kings” and “Lord of Lords” in Heaven. Heaven is the place of coronation of Jesus, who was denied as the ruler on Earth. The Heaven is governed by Him, and no one is above the Almighty. It is a familiar concept of God having the uppermost position, defying the distribution of levels amongst people on Earth.

5. Heaven is the place where pains and sufferings of this life and time will not exist

Revelation 21:4, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away.”

No wars, no weeping children, no anxious parents, no drunken parents, no orphanages, no old-age homes, no hospitals, no poverty, no sickness … this is what Heaven is said to be. All the depressing things in this life will be lacking in the next. As it is said in the Psalms, “Weeping may endure for a season but joy cometh on tomorrow.” Heaven is the place where ills of this life and time will be known no more. It is frequently observed that people take this notion very seriously, mostly to endure safe future, even if it means that they will have peace after their death.

4. Heaven is a place of Joy in His presence

Psalm 16:11, “You cause me to know the path of life; in your presence is joyful abundance, at your right hand there are pleasures forever.”

Heaven is a place of happiness; one that everyone awaits to be a part of. Heaven is a never-ending pot of pleasures, in the hands of Almighty himself. Any individual believes that they will have utmost contentment in the Upper Level; they believe Heaven to be a place where they will endure no pain.

3. Heaven is a place of where good deeds are rewarded

Matthew 5:12, “Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

Heaven is known to be a place where all good deeds performed on Earth are rewarded. The afterlife is glorious for those who did well in this life. Unlike the happenings on earth, where good deeds go unseen, God is going to reward those deeds in Heaven. God is just, he does all things right. His reward, henceforth, is right and just. It contradicts the common notion that Heaven is a place where deeds of past life is forgotten – but many people believe both the perceptions.

2. Heaven is a place where redeemed people gather

John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Heaven is said to be the place where redeemed people gather. It is a very common conviction that in the afterlife, all the wrongdoings of a person will be erased by redemption and Heaven will accept the compensated.

1. Heaven is a place where our dead beloved reside

Thessaloniains 4:13, “But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.”

It is very common to hear people looking up the sky and figuring out who their beloved is, amongst the stars. They believe that the dead people, once their very own, are watching us from the Heaven and keeping an eye on them.
